Black Lives Matter
I was thinking about what personal statement I could make regarding Black Lives Matter. If you know me, you know I care and campaign with Models of Diversity @modelsofdiversity not only for Black Lives but those of the disabled, tall, short, mature, LBGT and others that don’t conform to ’The Norm’ in modelling and the fashion community. I’ve spoken about racism within fashion, discrimination and the inability to change quickly enough. It’s not enough to just post a company statement now, jumping on the bandwagon. You have to mean it, follow it through and make it a part of you, so you never discriminate, as it has become second nature. Imagine the world thinking without discrimination.
I also looked at what I do. What I create and photograph. Do I always treat people as equals? Do I have a balanced portfolio reflecting beauty in everyone? I hope I try, I trust it’s second nature. So here is an image matrix of some of the people I photograph. I thought I may struggle, but I had many many more to show. There are no duplicates of individuals here, (at least I hope there isn’t as I’ve taken care to put individual images up). If you’ve got this far, thank you for reading. Let’s make change happen NOW!
