Creative Fashion Photography
The word ‘Creative’ is way over-used and in my mind, but as a creator, it’s a descriptive I have to live with, so this is my ‘Creative Fashion Photography’ page.
I mentioned in one of the other sections about pushing the creative envelope. If it’s with clients, than it’s an above from what we are shooting pushing the team towards that spark. Usually what is create is loved and we develop it further, but always with the realism of what we are there to do in the first place.
Creative with large and small C’s
In my experience, everyone wants a creative image. However, the size of the creativity is perceived differently by those who commissioned the work to those who sell, sign-off or own the company. A strong comprehensive brief negates any miss-interpretation but more importantly, I will always shoot ‘safety‘ images so that there is always a solid position should the stronger images push that creative edge. Planning and clear communication are key!
For personal projects, it’s both easier and harder. It’s easier because the ‘creative collective’ is the client, but faced with infinite possibilities, realistic goals have to be set so that the concept is not run-off-the-tracks by a wild whim of an idea.
It’s usually never one person’s idea. A spark ignites others, that’s what’s great about working in a team.
As I’ve mentioned before, I try to get as much done in-camera so we have minimal post-processing, but sometimes we still need to use it and the careful planning for the image ensures that additional elements that might need to be shot are included and not forgotten.
