On location in Iceland with Sigrun Designs
On location in Iceland with Sigrun Designs – Back in 2018, I was asked to shoot some of Sigrun’s amazing designs in her homeland of Iceland. Two models, some great local locations and many memory cards later we had enough shot over two days for two editorials and many spare images for social media and advertising. In Iceland, you really do have four seasons in one day and it all changes so quickly. Local knowledge along with a Plan B & C meant that we adapted and changed what we were going to shoot according to the weather. It helped to have an endless supply of light as the sun never set in June. We were also lucky to have access to alot of private land courtesy of Sigurn’s Aunt and one of JFK’s Cadillacs (don’t ask how that found it’s way to Iceland!).
There is something quite special about driving around in a Cadillac in Iceland with the whole team in the sunshine at two o’clock in the morning! I don’t know how long we shot for but we had many hundreds of images to sort through and select. The Canon equipment performed perfectly in sunlight, rain and the very cold.
Shooting Note:
Budgets were tight so we took what we could pack and carry. Two small flash packs, a remote trigger and a big reflector covered most of the lighting. Hair/MUA were local and a known quantity.
